‘Lasting Memories’
We’re here once again to rekindle old friendships and reminisce about the past --
To think about the good times and fond memories
we hope will last.
Some may be here for the first time in 20 to 30 years or so –
We suddenly remember those early years
that don’t seem that long ago.
Now some will say, ‘I can’t remember when’ and those who’ll say, ‘I’m not sure I want to’—
but after this weekend and all the fun,
you’ll recall all the good times, old and new.
I remember it as a wonderful time, carefree
and filled with fun—
We didn’t have many of the concerns of today that seem
to face everyone.
But we’re here today to remember
the good ole days gone by—
Of teachers, friends, and sweethearts we knew
at ole John Rogers High.
Then again, as life goes on, as time goes by
and classmates pass away—
Let’s take this time to remember them and
celebrate their lives today.
So, to all of you who came back to see
visions of your past—
I hope you will go back to your everyday life
with all the good memories that will last.
