They are “very happily retired”, enjoying themselves, visiting, traveling, and spending more time at their other home on the Pend Oreille River in Newport. Dick died on June 15th, 2005, while sleeping in his chair, just days after he completed his questionnaire for us. He lived in Spokane with his wife, June, and she said his death was ”un-expected and peaceful”. Dick attended school at Longfellow in Spokane before going on to Rogers and to Boston U. of Theology after his graduation from college. He was a civilian minister and a chaplain in the Army in Viet Nam and later a Christian Scientist Practitioner. He had six boys from his first marriage.
MAUGET, LOUIS EDWARD
Our extraordinary Webmaster, (!) Ed, is living in Durham, North Carolina with his wife, Carey. Ed said he retired once but took a new job the next day; Cary works “for nothing” for one of their sons. “The Duke” passed away in 2003 in Spokane. He had attended Longfellow Grade school before Rogers, then later married and worked as a mechanic and a warehouseman. For years he drove race cars at the Deer Park drag strip for fun.

Bob, who was partially disabled, died in December of 2004 as a result of his injuries he received when he was hit by a car as he attempted to cross North Division in Spokane. Bob was from Spokane, attended Hamilton Elem., and spent years in the Navy.

Dr. Miller is a Spokane urologist, now working just halftime in a new office on the north side, and married to Christie, his former medical technician/office manager! Everett retired after 26+ years with the Navy, mostly as a programmer with the last four years testing software. His two kids will be living in Portland soon so Everett and his wife, LaVerne,
a hospital chaplain volunteer, are getting ready to relocate to the Pacific NW, maybe in Spokane! He’s still doing bicycle trail work two or three times a month and functioning as the de facto bike mechanic for the Outdoor Outreach Program (for inner city kids to get them out in the boonies), maintaining donated bikes and keep-ing them in shape for the children.
