This edition, 99-100, is a beautiful nighttime photo of the Spokane City in the 1960 Treasure Chest for the beginning of LOTS of photos of those many TWO things: The ACTIVITIES and CLUBS that us seniors were doing our 1960 graduation year. This edition for the series is about several of of the monthly events by us "Senior Pirates", from the September to May months. For the rest of this year, there will be photo editions of the rest of the sections of the Treasure Chest: LOTS of GOOD PHOTOS on pages 110-139 in August; 141-155 pages of Clubs in September; Boys sports in October; Girls sports in November; Cheerleaders in December.
SEPTEMBER PHOTOS: CHEERLEADERS, JACKIE KOYAMA, THE ANNUAL FROSH INITIATION, KATHY COLE AND BOB KANNBERG, LYNDA PAGNOTTA AND DUANE FREDERIC. The Cheerleaders were performing in a nighttime football game, the "Merry-Go-Round one, "Dig those looks!" Jackie is shown doing acrobatics. The Annual Frosh Initiation "created many laughs and yells as the freshmen acted out skits and take-offs of various TV shows." Kathy Cole and Bob Kannberg "seem to be having a good time at the first A.S.B. mixer." Lynda Pagnotta and Duane Frederic "started the Treasure Chest sales campaign with a bang!"
OCTOBER: "A ROARING '20 pep con created much enthusiasm, especially when cheerleaders Barbara Hagman, Kathy Cole, Jackie Koyama, and Patti Blangeres did the Charleston with Dick Churchill and Wyatt Newman,and Duane Frederic." I was wearing my mom's fur coat and dad's hat.
NOVEMBER: Judy Hankle is dressed for a Sadi Hawkins dance and pulling off Roy Royer's long-sleeve shirt. There's a scene of 4 people in the "Dear Phobe" all school play. There's a photo of Rogers GIRLS entertaining dads for the annual "Dad and Daughters Dessert" Nov 23. Two bottom photos have the "marching group of the Pirettes" and the four fellas who earned football sports awards: John Lindblad, Dave Sacco, Larry Johnson and Rich Nacarrato.
DECEMBER: A photo of "TWO TUMBLING" guys doing so at a Christmas stage performance. Dora-Faye putting pins on Pirettes for their initiation. There's a group on stage for a "CON PERFORMANCE", another one of lots of girls singing Christmas Carols and a photo of the HUGE Christmas tree that was in front of the door to the auditorium.
